Dear Parents, November 12, 2009
We have been looking at different ways to tell a story. The children really enjoy retelling familiar stories using the felt board. On Thursday Nov. 12th we had a drama student show us how to perform a story while he narrated. The morning class became the characters in Sleeping Beauty, while the afternoon class used puppets to retell the story.
To continue with this strand of performance, we have planned a field trip to the Transalta Arts Barns (10330 – 84 Avenue) to see a play called the Project Whooping Crane. The play will be on Monday, November 30th at 10:00 am. We are combining the morning and afternoon class to see the play. We are not renting transportation for this field trip. We are going to meet in the lobby of the Transalta Arts Barn at 9:45 am and pick up will be at the same location at 11:00 am. If any parents would like to see the play with us, you are welcome to join us. You can buy an adult ticket at the door for $7.
For more information about the play look on this website: http://www.fringetheatreadventures.ca/project_whooping_crane.php
Please look in the mailboxes in the classroom to sign a permission slip.
Have a great week!
